Oldham 19 - 10 Fleetwood 28th February 2009 MAKESHIFT Oldham RUFC secured their first double of the season in North Lancs/Cumbria division with a valuable 19-10 victory against Fleetwood at Manor Park. It was a win which keeps Oldham clear of the relegation places and leaves the Fylde team rooted near the foot of the table. Oldham's already weakened team was depleted further by the late withdrawals of Michael Ward, James Wilkinson and Ian White. But there was some cheer when Steve Molloy, previously one of the absentees, made himself available at the last minute. |

Burnley 14 - 24 Oldham24th January 2009 ANDY GOREY was Oldham RUFC's hat-trick hero in a vital 24-14 victory at Burnley in North Lancs/Cumbria division.
The pacy left winger touched down three times in the second half as Oldham's recent revival continued. They are inching towards mid-table safety after spending much of the campaign entrenched in the danger zone.
It was a defeat which leaves Burnley, who won 50-24 at Manor Park earlier in the season, rooted in the relegation places. |
